Kinda late start for beginning the 2010 Photo Adventures, but better late than never! During lunch, Chantal and I took a quick photo set at some nearby railroad tracks. The technique I was trying practice was adding fill (via on-camera speedlight) whilst the utilizing the harsh sun as a backlight. To do this, I put my camera body in Manual mode, dialed down Shutter until I liked ambient light, set my aperture to my desired DOF, then added fill light to my taste.
Photo tips:
1. Practice, Practice, Practice. The more you do this process, the more natural it will become.
2. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes! You will learn from them!
3. Extra Flash power is recommended when shooting in broad daylight.
